Homemade Vanilla Extract
This is the best quality vanilla you can find. Make it at home and you'll never have to buy vanilla again, plus your recipes will taste absolutely amazing!  
8 Ounces of spirits of your choice: vodka, rum or bourbon.       No need to buy expensive brands!        
3 Vanilla beans

1. Split the vanilla beans lengthwise being careful to leave them connected at the top
2. Insert the beans into a clean glass jar and pour the alcohol over them.

That's all - it's really that easy! Keep your jar tightly sealed and in a dark place. Be sure to shake the jar several times during the week. Your vanilla extract will be ready to use in 8 weeks, but will taste even better if you can wait 12 weeks.
